|
The Modern Adventures Of Tom Sawyer (1998) Phillip Van Dyke stars as the modern-day Tom Sawyer in a role that was almost tailor-made for the cheeky, sly-grinning teen. Together with sidekick Chuck (Adam Dior), Tom learns some lessons as he participates in a work project to earn money for the town's recreation center. Like the original Tom Sawyer, he works hard at convincing other people to do his work. Tom and his friends learn that Joe, the man in charge of the fundraiser, is actually a crook and wants the money for himself. Tom and his pals try to foil Joe's plans, but eventually it boils down to Tom using his own skills as a con-man to finally outwit evil Joe - and save the day! Also features Jordan Warkol.
