The Climb
The Climb (1997) Gregory Smith stars as Danny Himes, a 12-year-old boy who is being raised by a single father in 1959 Baltimore. The story centers around Danny's desire to climb a local abandoned RF transmission tower, and his friendship with the dying, curmudgeonly "old man Langer", superbly played by John Hurt. Danny falls off an old ladder and breaks his arm, and will be unable to climb the dangerous old tower. That's until Mr. Langer agrees to help Danny devise a way to get to the top of the tower using a crudely constructed elevator. The friendship that develops between young Danny and cancer-stricken Langer is heartwarming. When Danny finally takes "the climb" the results are unexpected, and Danny's climactic elevator ride up the tower will make your heart race! | Just Ask My Children
Just Ask My Children (2001) This movie is terrifying because it is based on a true story. When 6-year-old Brian Kniffen (Ryan Wilson; Dan Byrd; Gregory Smith plays Brian Kniffen at age 16) and 9-year-old Brandon's (Cody Dorkin) mom and dad are falsely accused of molesting the brothers, the parents are hauled off to jail and the boys placed in protective custody during the child-molestation witch-hunts of the 1980s. The boys are lead to believe that if they provide the "right" testimonies in their parents' trial and say that they were molested, that they and their parents will get to go home. Child psychologists and prosecutors brainwash the boys to the point where they don't really know what the truth is anymore. Shuttled from one foster home to another, the boys try to cope with the horrifying circumstances, while their parents try and appeal their case and bring the truth to light. It takes 10 years for the truth to finally come out. (DVD Video Captures from this movie are in our Gregory Smith Galleries, Ryan Wilson Galleries, Cody Dorkin Galleries, and Dan Byrd Galleries)

Small Soldiers
Small Soldiers (1998) Gregory Smith stars as Alan Abernathy, a somewhat mischievous boy who, while entrusted to watch over his dad's toy store, encounters some toys that are alive! The "Commando Elite" toys are soldiers whose mission is to destroy the "Gorgonites", a group of gentle toys whose programming requires them to be defeated by the Commandos. Alan is thrust into this battle as he tries to protect the Gorgonites and defeat the Commando Elite, and eventually help the Gorgonites return to their home, Gorgon. Gregory's difficult acting task in this movie was to interact with co-stars who don't exist, as most of the toys were computer-generated or robotic. Gregory does the job superbly and makes the role believable and memorable. (DVD Video Captures from this movie are in our Gregory Smith Galleries). Co-stars Jacob Smith.
