Big Fat Liar
|
Big Fat Liar (2002) Jason Shepherd (Frankie Muniz) is a 14-year-old boy who just can't seem to help telling lies. His lies get him out of trouble with his parents and teachers. His simple life in Greenbury, Michigan, becomes complicated when he writes a story for school titled "Big Fat Liar". On his way to deliver this paper that will keep him out of summer-school, Jason crashes his bike into the limo of Marty Wolf (Paul Giamatti), a scoundrel of a Hollywood producer. Wolf gives Jason a ride to school, Jason's essay falls from his backpack, and Wolf keeps it and decides to make Jason's "Big Fat Liar" into a movie - claiming the idea as his own. Jason tries to convince his parents and teacher that he honestly lost his essay in Marty's limo, but no one believes him. When Jason sees a trailer for the movie "Big Fat Liar", he tells his parents and his best friend Kaylee (Amanda Bynes), but again no one believes this boy who is now literally crying "WOLF!". Jason and Kaylee go to Hollywood and embark on a series of hilarious schemes to try and get Wolf to acknowledge that "Big Fat Liar" was really Jason's idea, helping the youngster to hopefully win back the trust and respect of his parents.
