Profile:

At the modest age of 12, Ryan Sheckler, is one of the top amateur skateboarders in the world. He holds numerous state and national skateboarding titles and frequently accompanies top professional skateboarders, like Tony Hawk and Bob Burnquist, to demos and events. Ryan has experienced a meteoric rise to fame in the skateboarding industry. Now, his talents are being sought after by the motion picture, television and commercial industries. He has appeared as the principal role in numerous commercial and promotional spots. He most recently played 2 separate roles, principal actor (national skateboard champion) and stunt double (skateboarding chimpanzee), in the motion picture MVP II; written, produced and directed by Robert Vince (Air Bud). Ryan has found that he has a second love, acting. Producers, directors, and supporting cast members are always commenting what a pleasure it is to work with Ryan and what a consummate professional he is.

  • August 22, 2003: On August 17, 13-year-old Ryan Sheckler won the GOLD MEDAL in the 2003 X Games IX competition in Los Angeles. He was the only skater to complete every trick he tried. Ryan is the youngest competitor to win a medal in the X Games.
  • July 10, 2003: On May 2-4, 2003 at the 10th Vans Slam City Jam, held in Vancouver, RYAN SHECKLER PLACED 1ST IN STREET COMPETITION FOR THE TOURNAMENT! On the 2nd stop of the Vans Triple Crown, the Mountain Dew National Championships held in New Jersey on May 29-June 2, Ryan also took 1st place honors.
  • June 22, 2003: Ryan has a role in the movie "Grind" set to release in theaters on August 22, 2003 (see "Grind" Official Site and IMDb listing).
  • June 18, 2002: Look for Ryan in the Slam City Jam IX taped coverage to be shown on NBC on Sunday, June 23, 2002, 11:30pm PST, 2:30pm EST.
  • May 16, 2002: MTV and NBC sports also have done interviews with Ryan in conjunction with the Slam City Jam. Those interviews are supposed to air in the next month.
  • May 5, 2002: Ryan placed 4th at Slam City Jam, (largest professional contest in North America) Vancouver, Canada.
