The Store at Max Galleries gives you links to popular online vendors for your convenience.  We hope you will find lots of movies, books, and music to enjoy.  Please understand that Max Galleries cannot guarantee your satisfaction when buying from these sources.  Also, the online vendors may sometimes change their product links or a product may become unavailable, and one of our links may then go to a dead page at the vendor's site.  We apologize for this sort of inconvenience as we try to keep the links as up to date as possible.

Please note: In December, 2002, CDNow became part pf Amazon.com.  Therefore our links to CDNow have been discontinued.

1. What's the best way to find stuff in The Store?

In February, 2002, The Store at Max Galleries went through a big overhaul that we hope will make it much easier for you to find stuff in The Store.  June 2003 brought about another major change to the Movie Title Index Pages.

To find movies by movie title, go to the Movie Title Index and click on the first letter of the movie title.  First words in movie titles such as "The" and "A" don't count.  So if you were looking for "The Bad News Bears", you would choose Movie Title Index Page "B", the first letter in the word "Bad".  When you find the movie title you're looking for, click on the DVD or VHS graphic and a new window will open at the vendor site (Amazon.com, etc).  From there you can order the movie.  You may also click on a star's name to go to that star's page in our Store.  Note that additional movie info or buying options may be available on some stars' pages.  At the star's page you will see the movie listed and the available formats (DVD, VHS) along with other movies that feature that star.

To find movies by a particular young star, go to the Star Index and find the star's name in the alphabetical listing.  Click on the star's name to go to their page.  At that star's page you will see their movies listed and the available formats (DVD, VHS).  Click on the desired format and a new window will open at the vendor site (Amazon.com, etc).  From there you can order the movie.

To find music you can either find the musician listed at the Star Index or go directly to the Music Store Index.

To find books go to the Book Store index.

If you still cannot find what you're looking for we suggest that you use one of the search boxes located at the bottom of each page in The Store.  For your convenience we have provided links to the Internet Movie Database, a great resource for finding out information about stars and films, and search boxes directly to Amazon.com and CDNow.com.  We also have a Store Links page that has more places to shop for popular and hard-to-find movies and music.

2. How come ALL of a star's movies are not listed?

In most cases we list all the movies where the young actor had a significant role, and may also include some minor-role films.  However there are some cases where a popular star has not yet had a major film release, so for those we may list those movies where they had only minor roles.

For young actors who transitioned from child actor to adult actor, we usually only list those movies they made as a child star.

If a movie is not available for sale, it is not listed at The Store.

3. How come most of your links go to Amazon.com while only a few others go to other vendors?

Most of our direct product links go to Amazon.com because there are several things we like about Amazon.com above all others.

We have found that Amazon.com has the most complete inventory of movies, music and books.  And we like the way Amazon is set up.  For example, a typical page at Amazon that features a VHS movie will also have links to alternative versions of that movie (such as widescreen or alternate language versions of the VHS if available, DVD if available), and a direct link to the film's IMDb listing.  Another feature we like is that Amazon lists "Customers who bought this product also bought:" and then provides recommendations.  This is a good way to find great movies you never heard of, movies you may have forgotten about, and in some cases, that special movie you have been searching for.  All told, we like the way that Amazon.com enhances our own web-surfing experience and we hope you will too.

In cases where a particular title is not available at Amazon.com, or significant cost savings can be had by shopping at a different vendor, we provide links to other sites.

4. If I buy something from a link at "The Store", is the price any different than if I just went to the vendor's site and bought it myself?

There is no difference in the price you pay for a movie, CD, book or any other product.  If you use a link from "The Store" to purchase a product, or simply go to the vendor's homepage, find the product and order it, the price is the same.

5. I placed an order through "The Store" but the merchandise has not arrived, or was damaged, or they sent me the wrong product.  What should I do?

Any problems with orders placed with any of the vendors need to be resolved with that vendor.  Check with the vendor to find out their return or resolution policies.

6. I thought Max Galleries was not-for-profit?  Then what's the purpose of having a store at the site?

Max Galleries IS a not-for-profit web site.  The site is free to the public.  We do not charge memberships, we do not have any banner advertising, we don't make any money from people surfing our site.  We buy all the videos, CDs, and magazines used to create the images on the site, and we pay for our own professional web hosting.  There is a good deal of out-of-pocket expense required to keep Max Galleries going, not to mention the hours of labor involved, and we are happy to keep the site online for the enjoyment of the stars and fans at no cost.

The purpose of "The Store" is simple.  As a service to our site's many visitors, we provide "The Store" as a resource, a "one-stop shop" where fans of young actors and singers can find movies, books, and CDs of interest.  We also feel that providing an easy way for fans to purchase their favorite star's movies and music not only helps the fans, but helps the stars themselves by increasing their sales, however slight.

Visitors to our site do not have to shop at our store.  They can ignore it altogether.  If visitors do surf through the store they do not have to purchase items through our links.

To those visitors who do shop at "The Store at Max Galleries", we are happy to be of service, and thank you for shopping here.

7. What is Max Galleries' relationship with the vendors featured at "The Store"?

Max Galleries has entered into a standard affiliate agreement with Amazon.com.  Max Galleries is an Amazon.com Associate.  Details of this agreement can be viewed at the vendor's web site.  This agreement allows us to display their logos, provide direct links to their products, and provide search boxes to their site's product inventories.  As part of our agreement with Amazon, Max Galleries may receive a small commission for referral sales made from our site.

In some cases we have provided links to purchase products at other vendor's sites, aside from Amazon.  Examples would be links to Reel.com, VideoFlicks.com, MusicExpress.com, some star's official online stores, and others.  We have no official agreements with any of those vendors or sites and have simply placed the links for your convenience.
